Active Baby Boomers Explore America With Road Scholar
Summer is the perfect time to explore the great outdoors and try a new sport, visit a national park or learn something new about America’s incredible natural resources and beauty. Road Scholar, the nation’s largest educational travel organization, has introduced several new programs that get its participants outside of a traditional classroom.
While not an Olympic event (yet), Pickleball has become one of America’s fastest-growing sports. This uniquely American activity combines elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong, is played both indoors and outdoors, and can be played by people of all ages and skill levels. Road Scholar has created a learning adventure for enthusiasts to learn about the sport and showcase their skills on beautiful Hilton Head Island.
"Our participants are interested in experiential learning, whether it’s in a traditional classroom, on the slopes or on the court," said James Moses, president and CEO of Road Scholar. "Many of our new learning adventures are focused on trends we’re seen emerging with baby boomers who wish to learn something new, meet like-minded learners and remain active and physically fit."
